Hello and happy new year! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and hopefully got to spend some time relaxing with friends and family over the last few months. I was able to visit friends and family a couple times over the last few months and it was so needed! Now that the year is off to a fresh start, I am back with a brand new recipe: Cheeseburger Hand Pies! These are SO good, but my favorite thing about them is how quick and easy they are! They come together from start to finish in about 30 minutes, only need six ingredients, and only dirty maybe three or four dishes. These are perfect on a busy weeknight, lazy Saturday lunch, afternoon snack, and everything in between. The dehydrated onions really feel reminiscent of a McDonald’s cheeseburger and the ooey-gooey cheesiness sends your mouth straight to heaven! These can be eaten on the go, as a snack or appetizer, or even part of a meal. I love them with a side salad and some crispy fries or chips! Let’s get into it!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp dehydrated minced onion
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese

*Makes 4 hand pies*
Directions:
1. Heat a pan on medium heat and then add your ground beef.
2. Break the meat up and add half of the seasonings. Continue cooking.

3. When the meat is almost done, add the rest of the seasonings and continue cooking until fully browned.

4. When the meat is done, remove from heat and let it cool a bit while you preheat the oven to 350ºF.

5. While the oven preheats and the meat cools some, prepare a sheet pan by greasing it well.

6. Open the crescent dough and lay it out on the pan. Straighten it out with your fingers into an even rectangle.

7. Break the cheese slices into fourths or in half. Lay them a few inches apart on one half of the dough.

8. Spoon about 1/4 cup of cooked meat onto each section of cheese (you should use about half of the meat, the rest can be saved for something else or made into 4 additional hand pies if you buy another tube of crescent dough).

9. Add the rest of the cheese on top of the sections of meat and cheese.

10. Carefully fold the dough over onto the sections of meat and cheese. Then gently cut between each section, making four even (as best you can) sections. I like to actually use a pizza cutter to do this, but a knife will do.

11. Press the open ends closed with your fingers and then gently separate them across the pan so there is a few inches between each one. Then use a fork to press each edge closed and poke holes in the top of each one for venting.

12. Bake them for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy but not hard.
*Optional* Brush the tops with an egg wash before baking for a glossy finish.

That’s it! You now have delicious, golden pockets of cheesy, flavorful meat! Eat on their own or pair with some sides to make a meal. I love to dip them in ketchup to get the full cheeseburger experience!
