Okay, when I tell you guys you NEED to make these, I am not exaggerating! They come together so quick and easy, and they’re incredible! You also get quite a lot so they make an easy dessert to bring to a party, bbq, get together, pot luck, etc. They’re so soft, yet chewy, and just the right amount of sweet. The buttery cookie base goes perfect with the mellow white chocolate and the dark chocolate chips really balance it all out. Okay, I’ll stop talking about it now and show you how to make it so you can see for yourself!
Ingredients:
Bars:
- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs at room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chips

Drizzle:
- 1/2 tsp shortening, split in half
- 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips
- 3 tbsp white chips

*Makes about 20 pieces*
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.

2. In a medium bowl, cream together the brown sugar and melted butter, at least 5 minutes.

3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition.

4. Add the vanilla and continue mixing.

5. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour and salt.

6. Add the flour mixture in to the brown sugar, butter, egg mixture and mix until just combined.

7. Add the dark and white chips and gently stir together.

8. Grease a sheet pan and dump the dough across the pan.

9. Spread the dough across the pan as best as you can (it will be sticky!).

10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown but still soft (not doughy or raw).
11. When the cookie bars are done, let them cool completely before putting the drizzle on.
12. Add the 3 tbsp of white chips and 1/4 tsp shortening to a small microwave safe bowl.

13. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring each time, until the chips are melty and can mix with the shortening.

14. Take a fork and dip it in the melted chocolate and then move the fork back and forth over the cookie bars to drizzle the chocolate.

15. Repeat steps 12, 13, and 14 with the 3 tbsp of dark chocolate chips and the other 1/4 tsp shortening.

16. Cut into squares and serve.

Can be kept in an air tight container for up to 5 days.
